In support of our mission to support classes and programs at the Acton Senior Center, the Friends of Acton COA has several ways it raises funds during the year.
Bequests, Donations and Memorial Gifts
The Friends has been able to support major contributions to Acton Senior Center through generous bequests. For example, a new piano was purchased by the Friends to support both more sophisticated concerts and spontaneous musical moments.
Annual Appeal
The Friends mission is to raise funds which support classes and programs at the Acton Senior Center and to advocate for issues of concern to Acton’s seniors. Through our support a wide range of activities are offered free of charge to seniors living in Acton. Please visit the Friends Event Calendar to view sponsored Friend’s events or see a few highlights from programs we have sponsored on the Programs Funded page of website.
Once a year in the fall, we send out an Annual Appeal as the primary method of fund raising. We appreciate the many people who mail in or donate online. It directly impacts the programs and classes we support at the Acton Senior Center. All contributions large or small are deeply appreciated!
Contributions can be made online or mailed in:

Vintage Jewelry Sale

The Vintage Jewelry Sale is a great place to find one of a kind, beautiful jewelry. In 2023, 2024, and 2025 it was held in the Acton Senior Center in October and many Friends were present to support the event and help customers. The jewelry was dazzling. A special thank you to Mary Westcott for leading the efforts to make the event possible. She has volunteered her expertise and organizational skills over the years to make the event very special and well attended. Thanks Mary! Most of all, thank you to all those who attended and supported our cause with a purchase and a smile. Hope you enjoyed the day!

Dining for a Cause
Restaurant donations to the Friends of Acton COA are a wonderful way to help the Acton Senior Community. Great food, a good time, and supporting an important cause. A special thank you to Not Your Average Joe’s in Acton for their participation.

Pop-up Needle Arts Fair
The Needle Arts group creates many amazing knitted, crocheted, and crafty items. The Pop-up Needle Arts Fair makes the hand-crafted items they create available just in time for holiday shopping. Not only are the items special gifts to give but the money collected is used for programs and classes that enrich the lives of Acton Seniors. You can find many wonderful creations like knit caps, mittens, holiday ornaments, stuffed seasonal figures, and unique apparel for both very young to adult. Please see some items that were available in 2023 and 2024 below.
