April 4, 2024 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Free

Join Val Walker via Zoom for this month’s poet Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672), who was the first writer in England’s North American colonies to be published. From Northampton, England, wealthy, and highly educated, she migrated with her family during the founding of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. As a mother of eight children, she wrote poetry in addition to her other duties related to being a mother, her religious faith, as well as surviving a terrible fire that destroyed her home. Her most famous collection, The Tenth Muse Lately Sprung Up in America, was widely read in America and England.

Val Walker, MS, Educator, Blogger for Psychology Today, and author of The Art of Comforting and 400 Friends and No One to Call. She thoroughly enjoys sharing her love of poetry with others.
